The session began with a discussion on the stability of RHIB vessels, the theory and practical implications of capsize. On water training focused on building the following skills – Veering down between plie and land, securing a shore anchor, warping the vessel between the two points – patient transfer – medical care of patient – setting and connecting a long tow - sector search patterns – CQM in the marina – bar crossings in moderate conditions – MOB recovery in heavy weather using the life sling method of capturing a person – MOSS drills: MOB in harbour and heavy weather conditions – collision – engine failure – anchoring – pollution – medical emergency – towing - capsize.
