Training search for sunken vessel

Date:
Thu, 23/11/2017
Upon reports of a vessel that had sunk on or near Tokaapapa Reef (Grandfather Rocks) yesterday, a trainee crew went out and did an area familiarisation around the rocks in an effort to also try and spot any evidence of a vessel or gear.
A shoreline search was also performed from Plimmerton Boating Club back around the shore to Mana.
A man overboard procedure was also executed to practice the process of recovering a crew member as part of our MOSS safety system.
Upon returning to Mana Marina we moved a large cement yacht from the breastworks to a berth on F Pier as a training excercise in rafting and maneuvering and to assist the owner/marina.
