masters squad training

Date:
Sun, 01/08/2010
With 20 - 30 knot winds and 3 metre seas training today involved heavy weather handling and towing exercises. The towing exercises involved using CRV Pelorus as a vessel in distress the trainee masters on Porirua rescue practised up and down wind approaches, throwing the tow line and set up long tows.
This was a good exercise for the trainee masters in helming Porirua rescue in the correct position and for the crews to practise their line throwing technique
