Floatplane in high winds

A float plane was having difficulty taxiing to the jetty in high winds inside Porirua Harbour. The pilot contacted the Fire Service to request standby assistance and they contacted Coastguard Mana for on-water assistance in case there were any difficulties with getting to the jetty safely.

Incident Management Team members from Coastguard Mana and the local fire crew attended from the shore.

The plane safely taxied to the intended jetty and no further assistance was required.
