Outstanding response to call for volunteers

The response to the Kapi-Mana newspaper article calling for new volunteers to bolster our current crews has been better than expected.

13 people attended an introductory training session at yesterday's regular weekly training night. And with another article being published today in the Porirua News newspaper (see attachment) we are hoping for even more.

Some people just came down to see what was involved and to find out if it was what they would like to do before making a decision. Others came down charged and ready to go. Either way, Coastguard Mana is very happy to receive any support we can get from the very generous community in the Mana / Porirua area.
